An entry level elective for both juniors and seniors designed to develop basic skills and understanding of automotive theory and function.
The focus of the class is to meet the interests of both those who are committed in pursuing a career as an automotive technician, and students who only want to have a better understanding and appreciation of automotive technology.
Through the dynamic use of both a traditional classroom and a CTE laboratory, students gain access and experience to both the hands on and intellectual processes of being an automobile technician.
Instruction is aimed towards preparing technicians-in-training for summer internships that occur between their two years attending the academy.
Academy enrollees are prepared for a career in many different avenues of the automotive trade, and could apply gained knowledge to other technical professions.
